Description of problem: ======================= Found lower version of packages "python-paramiko", "python-httplib2" and "python-netifaces" in the latest RHGS3.2 RHEL7 ISO. Install the ISO 2. Register to satellite live and add the rhgs channel 3. Do yum update // You will see the updates getting the packages mentioned in the title. Actual results: =============== Found lower version of packages "python-paramiko", "python-httplib2" and "python-netifaces" in the latest RHGS3.2 RHEL7 ISO. Expected results: ================= ISO should carry the package versions equal to live or higher than live Additional info:
python-paramiko and python-httplib2 are lower versions in RHGS-3.2-RHEL-7 ISO, since I missed migrating this builds from rhgs0-3.1 -> 3.2. This has been done and will get reflected in the next snapshot ISO. But python-netifaces-0.10.4-1.el7ost, is the latest version shipped in RHGS-3.1-u1 and got migrated to rhgs-3.2 also. The higher version python-netifaces-0.10.4-3.el7 is available from RHEL-7.3 and it will be available via "yum update"
RHGSS-3.2-RHEL-7-20170104.n.1-RHGSS-x86_64-dvd1[1] has updated packages as below. python-paramiko-1.7.7.1-3.el7.noarch -> python-paramiko-1.15.2-1.el7aos.noarch python-httplib2-0.6.0-6.el7.noarch -> python-httplib2-0.9.1-2.el7aos.noarch [1] http://download-node-02.eng.bos.redhat.com/nightly/RHGS/3.2/RHGSS-3.2-RHEL-7-20170104.n.1/compose/RHGSS/x86_64/iso/RHGSS-3.2-RHEL-7-20170104.n.1-RHGSS-x86_64-dvd1.iso

As already mentioned in Comment 5, python-netifaces-0.10.4-1.el7ost has been shipped in RHGS-3.1-u1 and there are no further updates in RHGS-3.1-z or RHGS-3.2. python-netifaces-0.10.4-3.el7 is available in RHEL-7.3, and that will be available via yum update. If we want python-netifaces-0.10.4-3.el7, then it need to be carried in to RHGS errata or else, deprecate the python-netifaces-0.10.4-1.el7ost build in RHGS, so that the latest build available from RHEL will automatically get in. The larger issue is that, there are lot of packages which we have shipped from other layered products (like RHEV, RHOST, RHOSE etc), but there will be higher version builds in RHEL available now or later. So cherrypicking those builds to RHGS ISO and other images, overriding the one shipped in RHGS is not a scalable task.
Latest ISO is having the correct version of packages "python-paramiko" and "python-httplib2" and still lower version of package python-netifaces is present in ISO (To know the reason, check the comment 10) Moving to verified state.
