Description:

The Readline library provides a set of functions that allow users to
edit command lines. Both Emacs and vi editing modes are available. The
Readline library includes additional functions for maintaining a list
of previously-entered command lines for recalling or editing those
lines, and for performing csh-like history expansion on previous
commands.

Comment 1 Igor Gnatenko 2017-01-11 22:53:31 UTC
By the guidelines: The package is being created so that multiple versions of the same package can coexist in the distribution. The package MUST be properly named according to the naming guidelines and MUST NOT conflict with all other versions of the same package. If these requirements are not met, an exemption is required as above.

it can co-exist if the readline will change SONAME which will, since it's going to be upgraded to 7.x.

Siteshwar, feel free to request new package in PkgDB.
