Our intent is to replicate glance's image pool from one site (A) to a secondary site (B). When images appear in the mirrored pool on site B, we would like the glance service running there to make use of those images and allow instances to be created from them. This requires a way to tell glance "I would like to add an image that's already in your store with a particular name". In cinder this is called "import" but there appears to be no similar command for glance.
(In reply to Sean Cohen from comment #0) > When images appear in the mirrored pool on site B, How do they "appear"? How do you "copy" them there? I think glance-replicator could do the whole replication from site A to site B. I'm not exactly sure how well it works, though. Flavio, any idea?
I took the discussion offline with Cyril so he has a better understanding of what we do. We are currently revisiting our approach, more details coming soon.
Pushing out to OSP14 for review, Suggest to investigate Images synchronization at Kingbird level [2] https://review.openstack.org/#/c/462551/
The Ceph side of the RFE is implemented in Nautilus/4.0. We should plan this for OSP 16.
What do we need to do to ensure this is either covered in RHCS 4, a 4 z-stream or 4.1?
@tangvald: have you talked to Greg Charot about this?
