Description Paul Dudley 2017-02-13 00:13:47 UTC
In situations where a host group is used for systems more generally defined by their OS or Environment it is difficult to change puppet information for a larger number of hosts. Allowing the change of puppet information via host collections should be helpful in cases like this. Any other method of making a change to a larger number of systems would be sufficient as well.

Suggestions from customer that would function just as well:
*Dynamic group based on name, subnet, etc. that can be used to set a particular configuration using parameters.
*Manual group that can be maintained via the hammer command that can be used to set a particular configuration using parameters.

These changes can already be defined by clicking the hosts in All Hosts and applying changes from the Select Actions tab, but it would be convenient to have a way to group systems to make this easier.

Thank you for your interest in Satellite 6. We have evaluated this request, and we do not expect this to be implemented in product in the forseeable future. We are therefore closing this out as WONTFIX. If you have any concerns about this, please feel free to contact Rich Jerrido or Bryan Kearney. Thank you.
