Description Scott Bishop 2017-02-17 22:21:56 UTC
The most recent build of fail2ban for EPEL 6, 0.9.6-1.el6, has references to systemd in the paths-fedora.conf file. As a result, several jails refuse to work correctly.

The relevant lines are as follows:
# These services will log to the journal via syslog, so use the journal by
# default.
syslog_backend = systemd
sshd_backend = systemd
dropbear_backend = systemd
proftpd_backend = systemd
pureftpd_backend = systemd
wuftpd_backend = systemd
postfix_backend = systemd
dovecot_backend = systemd
