Description Pablo Hinojosa 2017-02-21 00:31:27 UTC
Description of problem:

Since kernel 4.9.9-200.fc25.x86_64 my computer stuck on boot. The error seems similar to this one https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1095601

actually, my error is:

0000:01:00.0 priv: HUB0: 085014 ffffffff (1d70820B)
0000:01:00.0 priv: GPC0 4188ac 00000001 (1870822e)
0000:01:00.0 DRM: Pointer to TDMS table invalid
0000:01:00.0 DRM: Pointer to flat panel table invalid

I have reinstalled xorg-x11-drv-nouveau.x86_64 and the problem still persists with kernel 4.9.9-200.fc25.x86_64 and 4.9.10-200.fc25.x86_64 but I can boot with 4.9.8-200.fc25.x86_64

I suppose this information is not enough so please I would need information about how to debug and provide good logs to fix this problem.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

xorg-x11-drv-nouveau.x86_64 1:1.0.13-1.fc25
X.Org X Server 1.19.1
01:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK208M [GeForce GT 740M] (rev a1)

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Upgrade fedora 25 to kernel 4.9.9-200.fc25.x86_64 or newer.
2. Reboot
3. boot stuck

Actual results:

Boot stops with error

0000:01:00.0 DRM: Pointer to flat panel table invalid

Expected results:

I close this issue because I have reinstalled nouveau driver and now I cannot reproduce the error / the error is fixed.
