Created attachment 1256476 [details] Screenshot of the New VM dialog Description of problem: The network selection is below the visible space of the New VM dialog and is not immediately visible. The only indication that tells the user to look for something is the gray scrollbar. I believe networking is important enough that it should be immediately obvious how to configure it. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): All the current available versions, I remember it being like this at least since 3.5. How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Just open the New VM dialog and compare it with the attached screenshot Actual results: Network configuration is completely hidden (including the title) in non-visible area and is only reachable via scrolling. Expected results: Networking setting are immediately visible and the user does not have to search for it.
Affinity labels should not have been added into this tab. Please open a bug to fix that on SLA
I wanted a separate tab, but the UX team was against it. But that is not the purpose of this bug. The network does not belong there either and is almost hidden even without that one element.
Eldan, you have requested this last week as well, haven't you?
Yes, we spoke about this ls week, I also spoke with Moran, but didn't have the time to come with a solution yet. BTW: "...I wanted a separate tab, but the UX team was against it...", Who was against it?
Eldan: I think the negative answer was provided for separate affinity tab in the past. It was revised since then and we will have separate side tab for affinity.
Please consulate with UX prior to fixing, I don't think this is a right change BTW since the simple VM add view relays on this.
As discussed with UX team we should not put single item into it's own tab. This would lead to waste of space. Instead of it we just extend the height of the popup.
This request has been proposed for two releases. This is invalid flag usage. The ovirt-future release flag has been cleared. If you wish to change the release flag, you must clear one release flag and then set the other release flag to ?.
Verified in ovirt-engine-webadmin-portal-4.2.0-0.0.master.20171010112017.gita8289d1.el7.centos.noarch The VM dialog height has been increased so the vNIC section is now visible and the horizontal scrollbar is not needed. See the attached screenshot.
