Description Hanno Boeck 2004-12-14 20:57:40 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/3.3; Linux) (KHTML, like Gecko)

Description of problem:
I wanted to try out fedora on an external USB Harddisk, but it isn't possible with the installer, it doesn't see the disk.
The harddisk is (as most external harddisks) a usual usb mass storage device, so this could simply be changed by loading the usb-storage module before starting the disk druid.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. boot fedora install cd.
2. select manual partitioning

Actual Results: external usb hdd doesn't appear.

Expected Results: should be possible to install on external hdd.

Unfortunately, we don't support installation to USB drives due to some
of the fun related issues around actually then being able to boot the
system.
