Description Florian Weimer 2017-03-03 16:01:35 UTC
Currently, “fedpkg mockbuild” on the f26 branch of any package results in this error message:

INFO: Mock Version: 1.3.3
Start: yum install
Yum command has been deprecated, use dnf instead.
See 'man dnf' and 'man yum2dnf' for more information.

There is no installed groups file.
Maybe run: yum groups mark convert (see man yum)
Error: libcrypt conflicts with libcrypt-nss-2.25-4.fc26.x86_64
 You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
 You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
Error: libcrypt-nss conflicts with libcrypt-2.25-4.fc26.x86_64

The generated mock configuration looks like this:

config_opts['chroothome'] = '/builddir'
config_opts['use_host_resolv'] = False
config_opts['basedir'] = '/var/lib/mock'
config_opts['rpmbuild_timeout'] = 86400
config_opts['yum.conf'] = '[main]\ncachedir=/var/cache/yum\ndebuglevel=1\nlogfile=/var/log/yum.log\nreposdir=/dev/null\nretries=20\nobsoletes=1\ngpgcheck=0\nassumeyes=1\nkeepcache=1\ninstall_weak_deps=0\nstrict=1\n\n# repos\n\n[build]\nname=build\nbaseurl=https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//repos/f26-build/703105/x86_64\n'
config_opts['chroot_setup_cmd'] = 'groupinstall build'
config_opts['target_arch'] = 'x86_64'
config_opts['root'] = u'f26-candidate-x86_64'

config_opts['plugin_conf']['root_cache_enable'] = False
config_opts['plugin_conf']['yum_cache_enable'] = False
config_opts['plugin_conf']['ccache_enable'] = False

config_opts['macros']['%_host'] = 'x86_64-koji-linux-gnu'
config_opts['macros']['%_host_cpu'] = 'x86_64'
config_opts['macros']['%vendor'] = 'Koji'
config_opts['macros']['%distribution'] = None
config_opts['macros']['%_topdir'] = '/builddir/build'
config_opts['macros']['%_rpmfilename'] = '%%{NAME}-%%{VERSION}-%%{RELEASE}.%%{ARCH}.rpm'
config_opts['macros']['%packager'] = 'Koji'

Something like this line is missing:

config_opts['package_manager'] = 'dnf'

Package versions used:

fedpkg-1.26-5.fc25.noarch
mock-1.3.3-1.fc25.noarch

Comment 1 cqi 2017-03-06 03:25:10 UTC
Today, I used koji to generate a mock config file and met same issue,

koji mock-config --tag f26-build --arch=x86_64 --topurl=http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/ -o f26-x86_64.cfg

fedpkg queries koji to generate mock config if not specify an existing mock config. I suspect there could be something wrong with Koji.

BTW, after I added this line manually,

config_opts['package_manager'] = 'dnf'

it seems mockbuild hangs at step

Start: dnf install

Comment 2 Fedora End Of Life 2017-11-16 18:35:34 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 25. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '25'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 25 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 3 Fedora End Of Life 2017-12-12 10:57:45 UTC
Fedora 25 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2017-12-12. Fedora 25 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
