Hi, please, attach inspector log, thanks! If possible, please attach the IPA logs too, from couple of nodes that fail to validate the interfaces, thanks! I no longer have access to this hardware, I can get some logs from teammates if they are running bulk introspection in their testing anytime soon. Sorry. So inspector and IPA logs are what you need? Yes indeed. Closing this now, feel free to reopen once you're able to reproduce. |
Description of problem:On a setup with 71 physical nodes, I tried openstack baremetal introspection bulk start. Some nodes succeeded, so nodes timed out, and in the case of some nodes(~5) the following was seen UUID d11d32b3-f220-4ac2-bb7d-0bbc761dfa2f finished with error: Preprocessing hook validate_interfaces: No suitable interfaces found in {u'em4': {'ip': None, 'mac': u'b8:ca:3a:66:dd:d5'}, u'em1': {'ip': u'192.0.2.9', 'mac': u'b8:ca:3a:66:dd:d0'}, u'em3': {'ip': u'10.12.70.73', 'mac' : u'b8:ca:3a:66:dd:d4'}, u'em2': {'ip': None, 'mac': u'b8:ca:3a:66:dd:d2'}} Newton was the release being used. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): RHOP 10 Puddle 2017-03-03.1 How reproducible: On about 71 nodes bulk introspected, saw this on about 5 nodes. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Import nodes 2. openstack baremetal introspection bulk start 3. Actual results: Introspection failed with above mentioned message on few nodes Expected results: Bulk introspection should finish or timeout. Additional info: Ramdisk logs weren't enabled then. always_store_ramdisk_logs was set to false (default)
