RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Red Hat Product Errata RHEA-2017:2115 0 normal SHIPPED_LIVE mod_lookup_identity bug fix and enhancement update 2017-08-01 19:37:41 UTC

Description Pavel Vomacka 2017-03-09 09:40:21 UTC
It is necessary to support multi-user lookup in mod_lookup_identity for allowing logging into WebUI with certificate which is mapped to more users.

Comment 2 Jan Pazdziora 2017-03-09 09:44:14 UTC
This looks to be needed to support bug 1402959.

Comment 3 Jan Pazdziora 2017-03-09 09:47:37 UTC
Initial upstream pull request: https://github.com/adelton/mod_lookup_identity/pull/3

Comment 4 Martin Kosek 2017-03-09 14:50:30 UTC
David Kupka was working on this RFE.

Comment 6 Scott Poore 2017-05-02 18:57:22 UTC
When I add a certificate to a second user, I cannot login as either user with the smart card and I see this in error_log:

[Tue May 02 14:54:01.685879 2017] [lookup_identity:error] [pid 14586] [client 10.13.129.184:49298] lookup_user_by_certificate failed [dbus_connection_send_with_reply_and_block(org.freedesktop.sssd.infopipe.Users.FindByNameAndCertificate)]: [More than one user found. Use ListByCertificate to get all.], referer: https://auto-hv-02-guest08.testrelm.test/ipa/ui/

Comment 7 Scott Poore 2017-05-02 18:58:21 UTC
I forgot to mention the version:

mod_lookup_identity-1.0.0-1.el7.x86_64

Also, for reference:

[root@auto-hv-02-guest08 ~]# dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=org.freedesktop.sssd.infopipe /org/freedesktop/sssd/infopipe/Users org.freedesktop.sssd.infopipe.Users.ListByCertificate string:"$(cat scuser107_cert1.pem)" uint32:10
method return sender=:1.5 -> dest=:1.11 reply_serial=2
   array [
      object path "/org/freedesktop/sssd/infopipe/Users/testrelm_2etest/576400135"
      object path "/org/freedesktop/sssd/infopipe/Users/testrelm_2etest/576400132"
   ]
[root@auto-hv-02-guest08 ~]#

Comment 12 Scott Poore 2017-05-11 16:55:45 UTC
David determined that the issue I was seeing was due to an upgrade issue with IPA not properly setting LookupUserByCertificate in /etc/httpd/conf.d/ipa.conf. Since the server I was testing on had been upgraded from an earlier version, this did not get set properly. With the settings manually added, testing worked as expected.

[root@auto-hv-02-guest08 ~]# grep Lookup /etc/httpd/conf.d/ipa.conf
  LookupUserByCertificate On
  LookupUserByCertificateParamName "username"

[root@auto-hv-02-guest08 ~]#

Moving back to ON_QA since the issue I saw is resolved and unrelated to mod_lookup_identity.
