Description Summer Long 2017-03-12 22:28:49 UTC
Description of problem:
The directory /var/log/aodh is world readable and contains log files that are readable, which can result in the exposure of sensitive information. The 'other readable/execute' bits need to be removed from the /var/log/aodh directory.

Because no sensitive data was found in the files, this is being raised as a hardening bug, and not a flaw.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
openstack-aodh-3.0.1-4.el7ost

How reproducible:
List /var/log directory for openstack-aodh:
$ ls -lart aodh
total 5112
-rw-r--r--. 1 aodh aodh 378 Feb 16 22:46 aodh-dbsync.log
drwxr-xr-x. 2 aodh root 4096 Feb 16 22:47 .
-rw-r--r--. 1 aodh aodh 2648 Mar 5 17:57 notifier.log
-rw-r--r--. 1 aodh aodh 2648 Mar 5 17:57 listener.log
drwxr-xr-x. 31 root root 4096 Mar 5 18:23 ..
-rw-r--r--. 1 aodh aodh 5207817 Mar 7 23:27 evaluator.log

Actual results:
Directory and files are world readable.

Expected results:
Directory and files should not be world readable.

Comment 4 Sasha Smolyak 2017-04-25 11:33:59 UTC
What exactly was the fix?
Because currently on undercloud:

[stack@undercloud-0 ~]$ cd /var/log
[stack@undercloud-0 log]$ ls -lart aodh
total 32
-rw-r--r--. 1 aodh aodh 378 Apr 25 06:28 aodh-dbsync.log
-rw-r--r--. 1 aodh aodh 756 Apr 25 06:28 notifier.log
drwxr-xr-x. 2 aodh root 90 Apr 25 06:28 .
-rw-r--r--. 1 aodh aodh 756 Apr 25 06:28 listener.log
drwxr-xr-x. 34 root root 4096 Apr 25 07:09 ..
-rw-r--r--. 1 aodh aodh 14189 Apr 25 07:29 evaluator.log

According to our records, this should be resolved by openstack-aodh-4.0.2-1.el7ost. This build is available now.
