Description of problem: It's probably too late and not useful to fix this. But I just want to report so that we take care for it to not happen again when releasing async. Latest 4.0.6 Async (20170201.0.el7_3) contains these packages: redhat-release-virtualization-host-4.0-6.1.el7.x86_64 redhat-release-virtualization-host-content-4.0-6.1.el7.x86_64 redhat-virtualization-host-image-update-placeholder-4.0-6.1.el7.noarch vdsm-4.18.21.1-1.el7ev.x86_64 So it thinks it can upgrade: # yum update Loaded plugins: imgbased-warning, product-id, search-disabled-repos, subscription-manager Warning: yum operations are not persisted across upgrades! Resolving Dependencies --> Running transaction check ---> Package redhat-virtualization-host-image-update.noarch 0:4.0-20170201.0.el7_3 will be obsoleting ---> Package redhat-virtualization-host-image-update-placeholder.noarch 0:4.0-6.1.el7 will be obsoleted --> Finished Dependency Resolution But the upgrade is actually the same image again (4.0.6 async). This means there is an upgrade loop (always thinks there is an upgrade available), but the upgrade is the same as the running image. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): RHV-H 4.0.6 Async RHVH-4.0-20170203.0-RHVH-x86_64-dvd1.iso How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install latest 4.0.6 Async 2. Attach repo 3. yum update 4. reboot 5. goto 3, it will find an "upgrade" which upgrades to the exact same version it's running.
Is this https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1422476 ?
Yes its the same. Thought it was just wrong package in async but looks like a more general problems. Thanks *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1422476 ***
