Unless there is some bad side effect I would prefer to leave it as is. For example, "rpm -qi" is still displaying the "Group" tag and is showing as "Unspecified" if left empty.
I mean i's not mandatory and I won't block your package if you want to keep it, but it's considered as deprecated.
