RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Richard W.M. Jones 2017-03-22 12:19:28 UTC
Description of problem:

We need to rebuild this component against OCaml 4.04.0.

Unfortunately I was hoping we'd get this done in RHEL 7.4, but
it looks like it'll now be deferred to RHEL 7.5.

Version:

brltty-4.5-14.el7

Comment 2 Richard W.M. Jones 2017-05-16 14:15:43 UTC
FYI there is a private branch (private-rjones-rhel-7.5-rebase)
which contains a small OCaml fix and a rebuild commit.

I tested this with RHEL 7.4 + OCaml 4.04.1 + the test described in
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1393750#c17 and #c18

It compiles OK, but does not run, as described in the other bug.

Comment 3 Richard W.M. Jones 2017-05-17 13:58:06 UTC
This works now.

Comment 4 Gwyn Ciesla 2017-05-17 14:14:44 UTC
Richard, would the patch for this impact https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1443262 ?

Comment 5 Jaroslav Škarvada 2017-05-17 14:29:21 UTC
(In reply to Gwyn Ciesla from comment #4)

Regarding patch mentioned/pushed in bug 1393750 it's backport from the upstream.

Comment 6 Gwyn Ciesla 2017-05-17 14:32:33 UTC
So totally orthogonal to the Python issue. Thanks!

Comment 16 Tereza Cerna 2018-02-06 18:04:21 UTC
Tested in:
    brltty-4.5-16.el7

* brltty was built with ocaml-4.05.0-6.el7
* all dependencies were installed
* tests were run and worked good

-> VERIFIED
