Comment 1 Martin Kosek 2017-03-27 11:47:57 UTC
This is a crash in bind-dyndb-ldap, moving to Tomas Krizek's attention.

Comment 3 Tomas Krizek 2017-03-28 10:56:10 UTC
The issue seems to be related to the data retrieved by SyncRepl from LDAP. If the customer would be willing to share their DNS records from LDAP, it might help me to reproduce the issue and find the root cause.

The ldif containing the DNS subtree can be exported from LDAP using this command:

$ db2ldif -s "cn=dns,dc=example,dc=com" -a /tmp/dns.ldif

Comment 6 Tomas Krizek 2017-04-21 11:48:31 UTC
I've examined this bug from the bind-dyndb-ldap side, but I can't trace the problem back to this component and I'm not able to reproduce it.

The crash happens in fctx_start. Meanwhile, the other thread is waiting for a lock to process SyncRepl update. I wasn't able to find any evidence that the fctx_start call is caused by or related to bind-dyndb-ldap.

Petr, could you please take a look at this bug and evaluate whether my assumption is correct?

Our wish would be to fix it in 8.7 but due to non-trivial nature of this bug and our capacity, the target release is planned to 8.8.

Comment 42 Trivino 2023-02-21 12:25:05 UTC
moving target release to 8.9.0
