Description of problem: Drag-n-Drop not working from other programs under Wayland, when I drag file from Gnome archive manager to Nautilus window : In Xorg : Can dropped In Wayland : Cant ! NB : It's not Wayland issue because other programs like Thunar still have drag-n-drop function. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 3.22.3
Drag-Drop issue kernel-4.10.8-200.fc25.x86_64 Hello I also experience a quiet buggy behaviour since I upgraded to Fedora 25 I am used to drag and drop my files into Evolution e-mail, as well as to other programs. I now experience the following bug with Files From Files 3.22.3 1.- I drag drop the file from File to my open e-mail 2.- Nothing happens. File is not dropped But as file manager, I am mostly using Krusader Version 2.4.0-beta3 "Single Step" Using KDE Development Platform 4.14.30 From Krusader: 1.- I drag drop the file from File to my open e-mail 2.- Nothing happens. File is not dropped 3.- I Lose all control on mouse clicks inside the windows. The arrow is there, I can move it and I can close windows by clicking on . But I can't click inside the window (e-mail, scoll bars, etc.) 4.- If I close Krusader, Everything comes back to normal
I believe I am seeing this bug as well, when I try to drag a file or folder from my desktop into a Nautilus window. I have enabled Desktop icons using gnome-tweak-tool, which launches "nautilus-desktop" for that purpose. Fedora 25, GNOME 3.22.3-1, libwayland-server-1.12.0-1. This was a bit surprising as I just switched from GNOME on Xorg to using a native Wayland session as my daily driver. To reproduce: 1. Enable "Icons on Desktop" with gnome-tweak-tool 2. Have at least one file in your desktop directory already 3. Open a Nautilus window to a different location 4. Drag the file on the Desktop into the Nautilus window and drop it Behaviour: 1. File is not copied / moved 2. Mouse cursor is stuck as the "closed hand" icon 3. Other applications may stop responding to mouse events - Firefox for example - but others - Tweak Tool for example - are OK 4. This message is printed repeatedly into the journal - until I switched applications, perhaps?: Jun 16 12:30:31 marceline nautilus[6171]: Requested drag source data from a widget that doesn't support it Expected behaviour: 1. File is copied or moved with no side effects Workaround: 1. Open gnome-tweak-tool 2. Disable "Icons on Desktop" which causes the nautilus-desktop process to be killed. 3. (Optionally) enable "Icons on Desktop" again if that's your jam
With wayland/fedora26, I can't drop subtitles in mpv like i'm used to under X
I have the same issue: When I try to drag something from desktop to somewhere else, the drag does not happen, the mouse pointer becomes a hand, and mouse stops functioning. To "fix" this, that is, get back the control of the machine without rebooting I had to: 1) pkill nautilus 2) nautilus & 3) To get the desktop icons back, I launched gnome-tweak-tool and toggled Desktop Icons options.. Big bug -- and it was reported in 2015, and now I came back somehow?
Btw, it only fails with drag and drop.. It works if you right-click and select CUT and then go to the destination directory and select paste.
I have the same issue in gnome on wayland (fedora26).
There is the old bug 1229018 about Wayland breaking drag'n'drop since Fedora 22 (or older?). In F26, it certainly breaks Nautilus drag'n'drop to Audacious.
Ok it was "healed" for a few updates, now the drag and drop bug is back. drag and drop something from desktop to another folder, and nothing happens.. except the pointer turns to a hand, and stops working as a pointer altogether. Have to reboot the machine to fix it :(
This seems to only be a problem if in icon view (drag and drop from Nautilus does nothing.) Switching to list view, it works fine.
This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 25. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '25'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 25 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
Fedora 25 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2017-12-12. Fedora 25 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
