Description Kees de Jong 2017-04-01 19:44:21 UTC
Description of problem: PSAD fails to start when using the following config: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/AquaL1te/bugreports/master/psad.conf

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): psad-2.4.3-3.fc25.x86_64

How reproducible: Use my config and restart the PSAD daemon.

Actual results: It fails in an instant.

Expected results: Use PSAD with journalctl.

Additional info: I'm trying to get the journalctl log feed working, since my /var/log/messages is not being used in my current setup and I want to use the Systemd journal.

The SELinux errors: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/AquaL1te/bugreports/master/selinux.log

Can this please be fixed so that journalctl can be used with PSAD and SELinux?

Comment 1 Fedora End Of Life 2017-11-16 19:05:33 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 25. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '25'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 25 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 2 Dominik 'Rathann' Mierzejewski 2017-11-21 14:09:11 UTC
Sorry, I didn't have time to fix this yet. Bumping to rawhide so it doesn't get auto-closed.

Comment 3 Fedora End Of Life 2018-02-20 15:32:00 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 28 development cycle.
Changing version to '28'.

Comment 4 Kees de Jong 2018-02-26 06:47:07 UTC
The new version of PSAD as been out for a while now (and isn't working properly because of this), is there anything blocking you? Other than time?

#1476553 and perhaps #1174309 can be fixed by bumping the release version to the latest greatest.

Comment 5 Dominik 'Rathann' Mierzejewski 2018-06-28 12:26:34 UTC
New release building in koji, will submit an update soon. Sorry for the delay, but lack of time was (and still is) quite severe. Co-maintainers welcome.
