RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Tom Barron 2017-04-04 19:28:49 UTC
Description of problem:

Please backport openstack_manila plugin from upstream.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

I see it included in sos-3.4-1.el7.noarch.rpm for rhel 7.4 but not in the latest rpm for 7.3, sos-3.3-5.el7_3.src.rpm [2].

Additional info:

Red Hat OpenStack Platform 10, which runs on top of RHEL 7.3, ships with manila support but SOS reports lack the relevant files, as discovered with BZ1434883 [3].

Here is a link to the plugin upstream:

https://github.com/sosreport/sos/blob/master/sos/plugins/openstack_manila.py

Comment 3 Pavel Moravec 2017-04-04 20:23:26 UTC
I dont understand the request.

The plugin will appear in RHEL7.4 (it is already included in sos-3.4-1.el7.noarch.rpm that is in https://errata.devel.redhat.com/advisory/27531 sos errata for RHEL7.4). So rhel-7.4.0+ is granted.

If the concern is "the plugin is missing in sos-3.3 that we need in RHEL7.3", please set rhel-7.3.z? flag and follow z-stream BZ request.

(and see probably dup 1415972 :) )

Comment 5 Tom Barron 2017-04-04 21:16:04 UTC
Hi Pavel,

Thanks for your quick response on this one. I am requesting a backport to RHEL7.3 since that is what is running under RHOSP10, an extended release that customers will be using for a number of years and we need this capability in SOS reports to support customers.

Comment 7 Tom Barron 2017-04-05 08:13:05 UTC
So this is not a dup of 1415972. 1415972 targets RHEL 7.4 whereas this is a request to backport the same support to RHEL 7.3 so that it can be used in RHOSP 10.
