It makes things like HTML document traversal and manipulation, event handling, animation, and Ajax much simpler with an easy-to-use API that works across a multitude of browsers. With a combination of versatility and extensibility, jQuery has changed the way that millions of people write JavaScript. Fedora Account System Username: ctubbsii This is a package rename from js-jquery to js-jquery2, so that js-jquery can be updated to version 3.x
I should clarify... the package is really a "compat" package for version 2 of jQuery. I say "package rename" only because those semantics seemed to make the most sense to me. Think of it as "compat" or "rename with upgrade instead of retire". Whatever makes the most sense to the reader. Either way, the process is the same: new package which obsoletes earlier versions of the original, followed by upgrade to latest version in the original package.
Since this diffs without any greater modification to the current js-jquery-package, I skip the regular review-report. Obsoletes are fine for pulling this as a replacement package and updating js-jquery to 3.X. Package APPROVED!!!
Excellent. Thanks for the quick review!
Quick change of package summary, so it's consistent with current js-jquery and js-jquery1 description, for pkgdb
Package request has been approved: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/package/rpms/js-jquery2
It's not actually required to do a full review in this case. The FPC has granted a blanket exception for such cases: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:ReviewGuidelines#Package_Review_Process
Closing ticket, since the package was imported (and later retired).
