Comment 12 Dan Callaghan 2018-07-17 00:59:55 UTC
Hmm... So it seems starting from 0.10.13 the Hackage listing moved from https://john-millikin.com/code/haskell-dbus/ (John Millikin <john>) to https://github.com/rblaze/haskell-dbus#readme (Andrey Sverdlichenko <blaze>). Presumably this was done with the original author's consent.

The fork introduces a number of fixes and enhancements, including some which are presumably backwards incompatible.

There is also a license change from GPLv3 to Apache 2.0, again presumably done with the consent of all contributors...

Comment 13 Dan Callaghan 2018-07-17 01:11:58 UTC
I was going to update this in rawhide but it fails to build with this bizarre error:

+ ghc --make -no-user-package-db -dynamic Setup
[1 of 1] Compiling Main ( Setup.hs, Setup.o )
Linking Setup ...
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/8/../../../../lib64/crti.o(.gnu.build.attributes+0x14): error: relocation refers to local symbol "" [1], which is defined in a discarded section
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/8/../../../../lib64/crti.o(.gnu.build.attributes+0x1c): error: relocation refers to local symbol "" [1], which is defined in a discarded section
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/8/../../../../lib64/crtn.o(.gnu.build.attributes+0x14): error: relocation refers to local symbol "" [1], which is defined in a discarded section
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/8/../../../../lib64/crtn.o(.gnu.build.attributes+0x1c): error: relocation refers to local symbol "" [1], which is defined in a discarded section
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
`gcc' failed in phase `Linker'. (Exit code: 1)

I am not sure what that empty symbol could possibly be or where it is coming from...

(In reply to Dan Callaghan from comment #13)

Ah, this is bug 1600431 in binutils. It's already fixed in rawhide, my mirror is just not updated yet.

Comment 15 Dan Callaghan 2018-07-17 01:36:37 UTC
This builds in Koji for x86_64 but it fails on s390x:

[11 of 11] Compiling DBus.TH ( lib/DBus/TH.hs, dist/build/DBus/TH.o )
lib/DBus/TH.hs:1:1: error:
