Using Fedora 26 Beta, freshest packages just after "dnf upgrade", but before reboot.
0. Log in after stand-by. Only running desktop apps are gnome term and chrome browser.
1. Plug-in (unlocked) Galaxy Note 3 via USB 3.0 cable (Micro B version) into 3.0 port
2. Some lag on the UI side, then ABRT trigger
3. Few seconds later gvfs mounts phone as MTP device with system pop-up - as intended.

I connected iPhone 6s and was using it as usb hotspot for internet access on fedora.
It looks like that connecting usb device caused system freeze.
At the time of system freeze, both iphone and wireless mouse (amkette) were connected to usb ports.
