Description Johannes Raggam 2017-04-19 14:01:22 UTC
I think this Bug is related to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1353008 but it have got the problem under Fedora 26 alpha, so I submit it a a new one.

Under Fedora 26 alpha in 4k resolution the screen is flickering/shaking around. When I move the mouse, the problem disappears. When starting glxgears, there is at least less screen shaking. When I set the resolution to 1920x1080 the problem is gone away.

this is my uname -a output:
4.11.0-0.rc6.git0.1.fc26.x86_64

My hardware:
Lenovo Yoga 910 with a 4k screen.

I have set this, but this doesn't resolbe the issue:

/etc/modprobe.d/i915.conf
options i915 enable_psr=0 enable_fbc=0 enable_rc6=0

Screen does not flicker and shake with an external FullHD Monitor attached, where the FullHD is in normal DPI mode (window scaling 1 automatically applied) and the built-in 4k monitor is in 4k resolution and HiDPI mode (window scaling 2 automatically applied).

Have to test again with external monitor not attached, later this day.

More testing:

- screen does not flicker with any resolution other than the native 3840x2160.

- screen does not flicker with older 4.10.10 kernel.
