Description of problem: With the updated kernel 2.6.9-1.724_FC3, you can no longer compile lufs (which is needed by captive-ntfs) due to a missing export of kernel symbol "kill_proc_info". Te export is removed in the kernel patch "linux-2.6.9-exports.patch". Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): kernel-2.6.9-1.724_FC3.i386.rpm How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Download and install kernel-2.6.9-1.724_FC3.i368.rpm and kernel-2.6.9-1.724_FC3.src.rpm. 2. Download and install captive-ntfs (http://www.jankratochvil.net/project/captive/dist/captive-static-1.1.5-0.i386.rpm) and complete "captive-install-aquire". 3. Try to mount a ntfs filesystem. This is where captive-ntfs tries to compile lufs and fails because of the missing kernel export. Actual results: The NTFS filesystem is not mounted. Expected results: The NTFS filesystem mounted. Additional info: By a little modification of the patch to not remove "kill_proc_info" and a recompile of the kernel, everything works fine.
this went away upstream. If you need this to come back, you (or the lufs people) will need to convince linux-kernel.org
