Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Comment 2 Brad Buckingham 2017-08-16 10:50:59 UTC
Hi Marek,

Quick question on Viewer role. In Satellite 6.3, if a user is assigned Org+Loc and has Viewer role, should they see the menus for Katello?

My assumption is 'yes'.

Is there something that needs to be done in Katello to enable this? (It is possible this is not yet in Satellite 6.3 SNAP 11.

Comment 3 Brad Buckingham 2017-08-16 10:56:09 UTC
Confirmed that on upstream Viewer role does include the 'Content' navigation; therefore, we have a missing commit downstream to enable it.

Also, there is a second issue in the upstream in that the Red Hat Repositories navigation is not included.

Moving to failed QA on Satellite 6.3 SNAP 11: satellite-6.3.0-16.0.beta.el7sat.noarch , tfm-rubygem-katello-3.4.4-1.el7sat.noarch

Brad, it's known issue tracked at BZ 1473212, once Katello 3.4.5 is released and rebased into Satellite builds, you should see it.

Comment 7 Brad Buckingham 2017-08-24 20:07:56 UTC
Thanks Marek, I am going to place this back in POST based upon the status of bug 1473212 and also denote 'fixed in version' of katello-3.4.5.

Comment 8 Brad Buckingham 2017-09-06 12:14:22 UTC
Verified on Satellite 6.3 snap 14: satellite-6.3.0-17.0.beta.el7sat.noarch, tfm-rubygem-katello-3.4.5-1.el7sat.noarch

- create new user
- assign new user the 'Viewer' role
- log in as new user
- user has access to Content Menu and can access the Subscriptions page

- The issue mentioned in comment 3 does still exists, where the user cannot see the Content -> Red Hat Repositories page. Since that is not part of the original bug description, I have created bug 1488893 to track resolution of that issue.
