RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Vera Budikova 2017-05-14 23:47:39 UTC
Description of problem:
When I move annotation, text frame is not move together with annotation.
It is not a big deal. It is only a little impractical, when I move annotation from the beginning to the end of the page for example.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
evince-3.22.1-5.el7.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Start evince
2. Open a document
3. Click on "Annotate the document" button
4. Click on "Add text annotation button
5. Type some text into a text field
6. Move the annotation to another place in the document
7. Click on annotation -> open annotation text frame

Actual results:
Frame (for edit annotation text) is shown on previous place.

Expected results:
Frame (for edit annotation text) follows annotation.

Comment 3 Marek Kašík 2020-03-05 13:36:43 UTC
I've prepared a merge request which fixes this in current upstream. You can found it here: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evince/-/merge_requests/225.
It solves the issue for Xorg but it does not for Wayland. It would need more fundamental changes in how annotations are handled in Wayland.
I'll wait several days for upstream opinion on this and will decide about giving this bug devel_ack then.

Comment 4 Marek Kašík 2020-04-15 11:23:33 UTC
I'm moving this to RHEL 8 since I have no response from upstream and we are quite late in RHEL 7 cycle.

Comment 5 Marek Kašík 2020-04-27 12:09:15 UTC
I've pushed my patch to RHEL 8.3.
