The "export CSV" feature of the Inventory generates JSON.

1. Navigate to Insights, Inventory
2. Click "export CSV"

JSON is generated

CSV is generated

Additional info:

A change of the button label might be an alternative, but the CSV format is much more convenient to be used in spreadsheet applications and shell scripts.
