oVirt gerrit 77521 0 master MERGED core: Block operations on disks containing memory dumps 2020-08-19 12:26:04 UTC

Description Tal Nisan 2017-05-21 14:38:30 UTC
Description of problem:
Currently there is nothing blocking operations on disks containing memory dumps other than the fact that they are filtered in the general disks view although operations on those disks are not supported (update, move, remove, attach to a VM).
This posses two problems:
- Theoretically if the user knows the ID of the disk those operations can be done via REST while they should be blocked.

- As part of the work on content type those images should be visible to the user in the future and for that reason the operations should be blocked

Tal - both patches attached to this BZ are merged. Are we waiting for anything else, or should this be MODIFIED?

Comment 4 Kevin Alon Goldblatt 2017-07-05 16:26:15 UTC
Verified with the following code:
----------------------------------------
ovirt-engine-4.2.0-0.0.master.20170621095718.git8901d14.el7.centos.noarch
vdsm-4.20.1-66.git228c7be.el7.centos.x86_64

Verified with the following scenario:
---------------------------------------
Created Vm with snapshot
Used REST API and tried to perform operations on Disk id of the snapshot memory disk >>>>> operations are blocked

Moving to VERIFIED!
