Description Ryan Skadberg 2005-01-18 02:35:40 UTC
It would be great if Robert Love's Inotify device could be added to
the FC Devel kernel. I see you guys are adding some stuff that will
soon be accepted and this is another one of those things.

The place to download the patches are:

ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/rml/inotify/v2.6/

This device is used very heavily for things like Beagle and it would
be great to not have to re-compile kernels, especially with the
frequency of kernels coming out in the development branch.

we cant add anything that adds a new API until it's got acceptance upstream.
inotify is now in -mm I believe, so it's possible it'll get merged soon, but
until then, we can't the risk.
