Description Sofer Athlan-Guyot 2017-05-22 17:04:08 UTC
Hi,

following the documentation here https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_openstack_platform/11/html/upgrading_red_hat_openstack_platform/chap-director-major-upgrade the link in the warning "Before performing an upgrade to the latest major ...." point the the osp-11 update:

  https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_openstack_platform/11/html/upgrading_red_hat_openstack_platform/chap-Director-Minor-Update

It should point to osp-10 version of the update, there:

  https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_openstack_platform/10/html/upgrading_red_hat_openstack_platform/sect-updating_the_environment

as the environment in still an osp10 one at this stage of the upgrade.

Same is true for https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_openstack_platform/10/html/upgrading_red_hat_openstack_platform/chap-upgrading_the_environment. I didn't check the previous version, maybe we need different bz to track them all ?

I've gone through all versions and checked/updated the references and links to the previous version's update guide.

For example, the note at the beginning of the OSP11 Upgrade instructions should now link to the OSP10 Minor Update instructions:

https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_openstack_platform/11/html/upgrading_red_hat_openstack_platform/chap-director-major-upgrade

Likewise for previous versions:

OSP10: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_openstack_platform/10/html/upgrading_red_hat_openstack_platform/chap-upgrading_the_environment (links to OSP9 Update Instructions)

OSP9: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_openstack_platform/9/html/upgrading_red_hat_openstack_platform/chap-upgrading_the_environment (links to OSP8 Update Instructions)

OSP8: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_openstack_platform/8/html/upgrading_red_hat_openstack_platform/chap-upgrading_the_environment (links to OSP7 Update Instructions in director guide)

Sofer, was there anything else required for this BZ?

Comment 2 Sofer Athlan-Guyot 2017-05-31 10:58:44 UTC
Hi Dan,

I've checked osp11 and osp10 links and bumped into a 404. osp9 and osp8 are fine.

Thanks.

Comment 4 Sofer Athlan-Guyot 2017-05-31 15:09:19 UTC
Perfect.

Thanks Dan.
