Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 1459179
Smbclient doesn't list Domain, OS and Server information
Last modified: 2017-08-01 14:21:34 EDT
I've fixed it but you should not rely on that information. It is only available if you connect using SMB1. With SMB2 or SMB3 this information is currently not available and it is likely that it will be removed in future. So you should probably file a bug that you fix your test cases after RHEL 7.4.0.
Using smbclient -m NT1 is correct, but the value for the domain might not be provided by the DC. You shouldn't rely on that information.
Okay, I understand. Thanks Andreas.
