Given that the modsecurity site (upstream) has instructions on getting the current version via yum (it should probably also add dnf command), requesting the latest version in the package.

Request for a package that uses mod_security 2.9.x on EPEL 6 and 7

OWASP Core Rule Set 3.x requires mod_security 2.8.x or 2.9.x to run properly

mod_security is included in RHEL7 base so it cannot be provided as an EPEL package, I prefer to keep EPEL6 <= EPEL7 to prevent breaking upgrade path (rh update tool).

I've provided a COPR repo which tracks Fedora rawhide packages (usually latest mod_security / mod_security_crs)
