Description of problem:
When trying to set options for my gluster volume, I get the follow error:
gluster volume set test5 nfs.rpc-auth-allow 172.18.0.0/16
volume set: failed: option rpc-auth.addr.test1.allow 172.18.0.0/16: '172.18.0.0/16' is not a valid mount-auth-address

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
3.8.12

How reproducible:
Ubuntu 16.04 // Glusterfs 3.8.12


Actual results:
volume set: failed: option rpc-auth.addr.test1.allow 172.18.0.0/16: '172.18.0.0/16' is not a valid mount-auth-address

Expected results:

Additional info:
We are NOT able to reproduce at any time, but are able to reproduce on 40+ machines in 1 of our clusters.

This bug is getting closed because the 3.8 version is marked End-Of-Life. There will be no further updates to this version. Please open a new bug against a version that still receives bugfixes if you are still facing this issue in a more current release.
