RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Hey Dominik -

We're relying on the normal branding from PRETTY_NAME, which seems to have broken somewhere on IE11... I expect that this probably isn't RHV specific.

Comment 4 Dominik Perpeet 2017-08-28 10:52:54 UTC
A lot of IE fixes were recently added to Cockpit upstream (including adding IE integration testing). We'll need to check if this issue was fixed also.

Comment 7 Martin Pitt 2018-01-22 12:22:22 UTC
Do you have a chance to test this on current RHEL 7.5 beta or nightlies? They ship a new cockpit version with lots of IE fixes. Thanks!

Comment 10 Martin Pitt 2018-03-23 08:00:00 UTC
So we still don't have a confirmation whether this is still an issue in RHEL 7.5 (or 8.0 nightlies). Could anyone try this? Alternatively, does someone have a test RHV system that I can debug this on?

I will retest it with RHEL-7.5-20180116.0-Server-x86_64-dvd1.iso later.

Test with rhel7.5-snapshort5(since download RHEL-7.5-20180116.0-Server-x86_64-dvd1 always failed, so update rhel7.5 from rhel7.4), the bug is fixed already.

Test Version:
RHEL-7.4-20170711.0-Server-x86_64-dvd1.iso (update to rhel7.5-snapshort5)
cockpit-bridge-160-3.el7.x86_64
cockpit-160-3.el7.x86_64
cockpit-storaged-160-3.el7.noarch
cockpit-ovirt-dashboard-0.11.19-1.el7ev.noarch
cockpit-ws-160-3.el7.x86_64
cockpit-dashboard-160-3.el7.x86_64
cockpit-system-160-3.el7.noarch
IE10 browser

Test Steps:
1. Install RHEL-7.4-20170711.0-Server-x86_64-dvd1.iso
2. Upgrade to rhel7.5-snapshort5
3. Install rhv 4.2 repos rpm
4. yum install cockpit, cockpit-ovirt-dashboard
5. config firewall and service for cockpit
6. Launch cockpit WebUI with IE10 browser

Results:
Brand "RED HAT ENTERPRISE LINUX SERVER" displays normally on cockpit login page.

The bug is fixed, so QE will change the status to VERIFIED after it is changed to ON_QA.
