Prior to this update, a bug in the gawk utility could sometimes cause it to perform an out of bounds write, which resulted in it being killed by a SIGABRT signal. This bug is now fixed, and gawk is no longer being terminated unexpectedly.

This bug has been copied from bug #1441689 and has been proposed
to be backported to 7.3 z-stream (EUS).
