The dependency should be on python3 not python2 it brings in an entire stack that's not default. The "python dependency is, unfortunately, correct, it's needed by the latex-access Contraction." should be split out into a sub package or it should use python3 because python3 is the default python stack in Fedora releases.
brltty-5.5-5.fc26 has been submitted as an update to Fedora 26. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2017-16b93b066d
Update is out for f26, but the build dies with a java segfault on ppc64le.
Created attachment 1296262 [details] ppc64le build failure
Adding Power64 tracking bug so the POWER team are aware of the issue
the segfault could be the recent IFUNC issue with glibc 2.26 vs gcc (https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/UJDC6JZEXME2SWGEIAXAU6SE7RP5N3RH/)
