Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description maneesh verma 2017-07-11 09:08:28 UTC
Description of problem:

Whenever register the server using capsule rpm it never shows up under Host Managed in Infrastructure>Capsule on Web UI.

How reproducible:

Every time we use the capsule to register the clients.

Steps to Reproduce:

1- Run bootstrap script to register, migrate the server from Sat 5 to Sat 6 using capsule rpm, it will not show under the Infrastructure>Capsule>Host Managed.

2.- Do a manual registration of a client to Satellite but use capsule katello rpm. Registration will success but Host Managed count will not change under Infrastructure>Capsule.

Actual results:

Managed host count is not changing under Infrastructure>Capsule.

Expected results:

The count should change, so that customer will know which servers are registered using Capsule on Satellite.

Hi Maneesh, could this be a duplicate of bug 1401224? I am thinking not, if it is a behavioral difference between registration with bootstrap vs subscription-manager, but wanted to confirm. It may also be that the host is only considered managed, if it has puppet; however, we'll need to confirm if that is the case.

Hello Brad

Yes, it seems like a duplicate one.

Thanks
Maneesh
