Description Jeffrey Walton 2017-07-13 15:28:13 EDT
I installed Fedora 26 on amd64. It was fully patched. GNOME Tweak Tool was installed, and caja-open-terminal is installed. (I also tried to install nautilus-open-terminal, but there was no package).

Tweak Tool was used to stop treating every f**king computer in the world like a tablet. That is, Tweak Tool -> Desktop -> Icons on the Desktop -> On. This was required in the past to enable the "open terminal" menu item.

Reboot the machine because there's no logoff since the developers think every computer in the world is a f**king tablet.

Lo and behold, there is no "open terminal" when right clicking on the desktop or in a folder.

Why gnome-tweak-tool if you're using MATE desktop?
Btw. Are you using Gnome desktop?
