Description of problem: In Amazon S3, a user can change the storage classes of a object by issuing a PUT request with the new x-amz-storage-class and with x-amz-copy-source set to the same path as the object name. This is described in the S3 documentation. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/dev/ChgStoClsOfObj.html Currently, we do not support doing this, and probably should. It would be great if we supported it before S3A did so we're covered when folks start trying to use it with big data tools. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-14326
Updating the QA Contact to a Hemant. Hemant will be rerouting them to the appropriate QE Associate. Regards, Giri
