Description bastelnerk 2017-07-16 17:46:17 EDT
Description of problem: When logging in to an XFCE session, the gnome keyring does not get unlocked. When a key from the keyring is required, a somewhat annoying dialog asks the user to enter the keyring password - in the typical case, this will be the same as the log in password.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Save passwords in gnome-keyring, e.g. using Chromium. Log out of XFCE session
2. Log in to XFCE session
3. Start chromium, access site with saved password

Actual results:
- Prompt appears : "Enter password to unlock your login keyring"

Expected results:
- Saved password is used without any new prompt

Additional info: Ubuntu had/has the same bug, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-keyring/+bug/1022322

Based on the solution outlined there, I was able to fix the problem by changing

- OnlyShowIn=GNOME;Unity;MATE;
+ OnlyShowIn=GNOME;Unity;MATE;XFCE;

in /etc/xdg/autostart/gnome-keyring-(pkcs11|secrets|ssh).desktop

This makes the usability much more pleasant!

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 27 development cycle.
Changing version to '27'.
