Description Blair Aitken 2017-07-25 15:53:35 EDT
* sosreport does not collect all information on rear configurations
* we'd like to request this enhancement be considered for future releases of sos

In the below example, you can see items that are apart of the rear configuration and logs, but are not picked up by sosreport.

root@r69 ~ $ find /etc /var/log | grep rear
/etc/rear
/etc/rear/os.conf
/etc/rear/local.conf
/etc/cron.d/rear
/var/log/rear
/var/log/rear/rear-r69.log.lockless
/var/log/rear/rear-r69.log.lockless.old
/var/log/rear/rear-r69.log

root@r69 ~ $ cd sosreport

root@r69 ~/sosreport $ find etc/ var/log | grep rear
etc/cron.d/rear

SUMMARY: we'd like sosreport to collect /etc/rear/* & /var/log/rear/*

I opened this same BZ for RHEL 7: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1474976

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 is in the Production 3 Phase. During the Production 3 Phase, Critical impact Security Advisories (RHSAs) and selected Urgent Priority Bug Fix Advisories (RHBAs) may be released as they become available.

The official life cycle policy can be reviewed here:

http://redhat.com/rhel/lifecycle

This issue does not meet the inclusion criteria for the Production 3 Phase and will be marked as CLOSED/WONTFIX. If this remains a critical requirement, please contact Red Hat Customer Support to request a re-evaluation of the issue, citing a clear business justification. Note that a strong business justification will be required for re-evaluation. Red Hat Customer Support can be contacted via the Red Hat Customer Portal at the following URL:
