Description of problem: Document new tool (ceph-volume) that helps provision OSDs using LVM as the underlying device technology. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Additional info: * What customer solution does the proposed documentation deliver? Explains a new tool (ceph-volume) that helps provision OSDs using LVM as the underlying device technology * What (if any) existing documentation touches on this customer solution or problem area? I've opened a PR with the initial documentation for upstream https://github.com/ceph/ceph/pull/17068 There is nothing that exists here already since this is new tooling. * Who is the target audience? (i.e. system admin? end user? storage admin? IT admin? developer?, etc.) I think everyone except end user. From system/storage admin all the way to developer (I added some developer-targetted documentation in the PR) * What is the level of product familiarity for the intended audience? (i.e. new customer? existing customer? Red Hat partner?, etc.) existing and new customer * Is there any existing upstream activity (or documentation) available for investigation? The PR, and before ceph-volume went as part of ceph.git it was published at http://docs.ceph.com/ceph-volume/master/ (a bit stale now) * Is there a specific customer support case(s) associated with this customer solution? I am not aware of one. * Is there any Engineering support available to assist CCS with creating the new documentation? Alfredo Deza (adeza) * What is the time frame expected to deliver the proposed documentation? RHCS 3.0
