Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Andrew Dahms 2017-09-09 15:38:38 UTC
The instructions on upgrading Capsule Server from Satellite 6.2 to Satellite 6.3 must be updated.

Comment 1 Andrew Dahms 2017-09-09 15:46:55 UTC
Assigning to Stephen for review.

Comment 2 Andrew Dahms 2017-09-19 23:48:50 UTC
Note - the beta channel will likely be the same as that used in previous beta releases:

rhel-7-server-satellite-capsule-6-beta-rpms

Comment 10 Steve Bream 2017-11-07 10:38:49 UTC
Hello Stephen,

Foreman-maintain is planned to work with capsules for GA, but doesn't at present. Since this documentation will be part of the high-touch and public betas, let's wait to update the capsule procedure until the changes to foreman-maintain are complete.

Thanks,
Steve

Comment 15 Andrew Dahms 2017-12-11 00:56:43 UTC
Updating target milestone to 'GA'.

Comment 16 Andrew Dahms 2018-01-16 00:22:54 UTC
Updating the doc type.

Comment 17 Stephen Wadeley 2018-01-18 11:04:35 UTC
Hello

As nothing here about Capsule support:
Bug 1496794 - Tracker: Foreman-maintain tool

I raised this:
Bug 1535466 - [RFE] Foreman maintain support for Capsules

Comment 19 Stephen Wadeley 2018-02-07 12:49:59 UTC
Hello

Steve Bream says[1]

> Per Mike McCune, foremain-maintain will not work with capsules in Satellite
> 6.3, so I think we can close this bz.

As at seems this bug will not be used further for 6.3 GA work I will close it now and we can reopen or rather open new bug when the time comes.

AS the changes I made in this bug are already in the 6.3-Beta docs I will close CURRENTRELEASE
