Description Mike Christie 2017-09-10 17:10:31 UTC
Description of problem:

The ceph iscsi doc should be updated for RHCS 2.3. In 2.3 we switched from kernel based device support to tcmu-runner based and we dropped support for windows and esx.

2.3 is still tech preview and only supports RHEL, so in section:

8.2.1. Configuring the iSCSI Target using Ansible
Requirements:

A running Red Hat Ceph Storage 2.1 cluster or newer

---

It should say something like

For vmware and windows support, Red Hat Ceph Storage 2.1 - 2.2 must be
used. 2.3 or newer do not support these operating systems.
For RHEL, Red Hat Ceph Storage 2.1 or newer can be used.

One more change to the RHCS 2.1 - 2.3 iscsi documentation:

Under "Prerequisites:" we have:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.3 for Ansible deployments

but that should be 7.4 like it is for the command-line deployment.
