Description of problem: URLs for classic user portal should redirect to VM Portal This will preserve old User Portal bookmarks Currently those old links return 404. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 4.2 How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. navigate to <engine>/ovirt-engine/userportal-gwtp/ Actual results: 404 Expected results: Redirect to VM Portal
not sure if it's really needed. It's not the same portal anyway, there are many more things people need to adjust to than a bookmark
the redirect pattern is: /ovirt-engine/userportal(/.*$)? -> /ovirt-engine/web-ui So to test, anything that starts with "/ovirt-engine/userportal" should redirect to /ovirt-engine/web-ui -- "/userportal", "/userportal2", and "/userportal/aaa" should all redirect.
Can the BZ move to MODIFIED?
Yep
The redirection works, but it doesn't pass on variables. Most of them I assume make no sense anymore, but e.g. locale=de_DE will be used also in VM portal. Should the variables also be redirected with the URL?
I guess it should, but I wouldn't consider that critical really. The whole redirect is not so important, just to point admins to misconfiguration after update
Alright, thank you Michal. If needed, new BZ will be created. verified in ovirt-engine-4.2.0-0.0.master.20171106202508.gitf5140b9.el7.centos.noarch
