package: python2-rdopkg-0.45.0-4.el7.noarch unresolved deps: pyOpenSSL >= 0:16.2.0 This seem to be hard requirement. RHEL 7.4 only has: 0.13.1-3.el7 So rdopkg should be retired from epel7. Note to maintainer: you should really check if dependencies are available before pushing package.
rdopkg-0.45.0-5.el7 has been submitted as an update to Fedora EPEL 7. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2018-c44e6cb110
(In reply to Tuomo Soini from comment #0) > Note to maintainer: you should really check if dependencies are available > before pushing package. Note from maintainer: Ideally, yes. But as we know humans are error prone, the basic condition of requirements being available should be automatically tested and ensured by the updates system. It simply didn't occur to me there is no gating whatsoever and noone noticed this breakage because users (including me) had the req available from another repo. I removed the uneeded hard requirement (was a worakournd previously) and I'll investigate how to make Automated Tests do what I think should be done for every update by default - check whether the requirements are met for distribution in question.
