Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 1493125
[RFE] Kernel address space layout randomization [KASLR] qemu support (kernel)
Last modified: 2018-04-18 04:03:18 EDT
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1398633 +++ kernel clone for the implementation of this feature. The qemu consensus is to use a etc/vmcoreinfo fw_cfg entry to store vmcoreinfo details. The current patch series for upstream: https://lkml.org/lkml/2017/9/19/223
Please help to review the series for upstream kernel: https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2017-10/msg06860.html
Good to me. fwiw, I explained more the design of fw_cfg/kaslr on the ML: http://post-office.corp.redhat.com/archives/rhkernel-list/2017-December/msg01371.html
Patch(es) committed on kernel repository and an interim kernel build is undergoing testing
Patch(es) available on kernel-3.10.0-826.el7
Hi Marc-Andre Lureau, I confirmed that the issue has been fixed correctly in RHEL7.5 ss1. I really appreciated for your work. Thanks. HATAYAMA, Daisuke
