On linux the net-tools suite of utilities has been long since deprecated. The relevant code that gets executed on Fedora and EPEL should be identified and patched out, with a suitable pull request upstream, to remove the dependency on any tool in the net-tools package and instead use suitable tools form iproute2.
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 28 development cycle. Changing version to '28'.
This code is ANCIENT. Honestly, the fact that this code still works is probably only interesting to archaeologists. BUT Since it does still work, and is hypothetically useful to someone (somewhere), and since this change is logical, I made it. Upstream (when they were alive) used CVS. I will not be trying to push a change into a dead CVS in 2018. I'm not paid enough. :D Fixed in rawhide: wlassistant-0.5.7-31.fc30
