dbus-1.10.24-1.el7 changed location of dbus-send
Last modified: 2018-04-10 08:54:04 EDT
Description of problem: The latest version of dbus changed location of binary dbus-send from /bin/dbus-send to /usr/bin/dbus-send Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): sh$ rpm -q dbus dbus-1.10.24-1.el7.x86_64 How reproducible: Deterministic Steps to Reproduce: 1. rpm -q --list --provides dbus | grep send Actual results: sh# rpm -qa | grep dbus python-slip-dbus-0.4.0-3.el7.noarch dbus-glib-0.100-7.el7.x86_64 dbus-libs-1.10.24-1.el7.x86_64 dbus-1.10.24-1.el7.x86_64 dbus-python-1.1.1-9.el7.x86_64 sh# rpm -q --list --provides dbus-1.10.24-1.el7 | grep send /usr/bin/dbus-send /usr/share/man/man1/dbus-send.1.gz Expected results: # Similar output as in el7.4 sh# rpm -qa | grep dbus python-slip-dbus-0.4.0-3.el7.noarch dbus-glib-0.100-7.el7.x86_64 dbus-libs-1.6.12-17.el7.x86_64 dbus-1.6.12-17.el7.x86_64 dbus-python-1.1.1-9.el7.x86_64 sh# rpm -q --list --provides dbus-1.6.12-17.el7 | grep send /bin/dbus-send /usr/share/man/man1/dbus-send.1.gz
If you think that it cannot cause any problem with yum and it is bug in anaconda then fell free to move to different component.
Created attachment 1333779 [details] update oddjob packaging for new dbus-send location
(In reply to David King from comment #4) > Created attachment 1333779 [details] > update oddjob packaging for new dbus-send location IMHO much simpler would be to add "Provides: /bin/dbus-send" into dbus package rather then fixing all other packages in rhel-7.Y. We might afford such change in major release but not in minor releases.
