Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

console error

Description of problem:

Installer throws error "something went wrong" on 100% completion and without throwing any error on console. This is misleading. Even though I don't see any error in logs.

Please see screenshot of error when installer100% completed.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
6.2 -> 6.3 snap20

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. satellite-installer --scenario satellite --upograde
2.
3.

Actual results:
Installer throws error "something went wrong" on 100% completion and without throwing any error on console.

Expected results:
when there are no errors then installer should complete w/o throwing error, its misleading

Comment 6 Martin Bacovsky 2017-10-17 14:37:31 UTC
Created redmine issue http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/21365 from this bug

Comment 7 Martin Bacovsky 2017-10-17 15:12:52 UTC
After recent refactoring of post-install messages the installer just prints wrong message when doing an upgrade. It is safe to ignore unless there is some error in the log.

Comment 8 Marek Hulan 2017-10-17 16:39:14 UTC
Is this a blocker in such case?

Comment 10 Satellite Program 2017-10-17 18:24:37 UTC
Moving this bug to POST for triage into Satellite 6 since the upstream issue http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/21365 has been resolved.

Comment 14 Sachin Ghai 2017-10-23 04:00:10 UTC
Verified w/ sat6.3 snap21, reported issue doen't appear on regular upgrade automation.
